Kemerovo State University professor becomes Russian Presidential grant holder

The results of the competition to receive Russian Presidential grants for young scientists and doctors of sciences have been announced in Moscow. State support grants for young scientists are assigned annually in the amount of 600 thousand rubles per year for candidates of sciences and 1 million rubles per year for doctors of sciences for a period of two years. About 1.5 thousand applications were submitted for the competition this year. 400 candidates and 60 doctors of sciences will receive grants in 2021-2022. This list includes Alexander Zvekov, Dr. Sci. in Physics and Mathematics, professor of Kemerovo State University, whose current project is “Experimental and theoretical study of nonlinear absorption mechanisms of laser pulsed radiation and mechanical corrasion of composites based on transparent matrix and light-absorbing nanoparticles”. The grant in the amount of 2 million rubles will be implemented in the period of two years. It is worth noting that Alexander Zvekov was elected to the position of professor by competitive selection in the spring of 2020.
