Kemerovo State University hosted a meeting of Governor Sergey Tsivilyov with representatives of the scientific and historical community of the region

On April 5, Kemerovo State University organized the meeting of Governor S.E. Tsivilyov with region’s academic and historical community. Scientists, history teachers, museum workers, school and university students were its participants. Many leading historians were among the speakers: O.S. Sovetova, Director of the Institute of History and International Relations, Doctor of Historical Sciences, A.N Ermolaev, Doctor of Historical Sciences, A.B. Konovalov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, K.V Yumatov, Candidate of Historical Sciences, S.O. Gavrilov, Director of the Law Institute, Doctor of Historical Sciences. During the meeting, the attendees discussed the development of Kuznetsk land ranging from ancient times to modernity. Let us recall that the official countdown to the 300th Kuzbass anniversary started on October 11 in 2018. 

The participants of the meeting spoke about the work carried out in preparation for the anniversary. "The preparation for the 300th anniversary of Kuzbass has aroused the interest of its residents to study the history of their native region. I am grateful to our scientists that they have already studied a huge amount of archival documents and continue this work. In this anniversary year, it is especially important to feel connected to our past. We have who to be proud of and this memory must be passed on to our children and grandchildren. The main task for the anniversary year is to work for Kuzbass, as our ancestors worked. And ensure that every resident of the region feels the changes for the better in their lives," said Governor S. E. Tsivilyov. In agreement with the region, the TASS news agency is selecting a collection of historical photographs of Kuzbass dating back to tsarist times. In the meantime, the State Film Fund is searching for films about the history of the region. This material will be available to everyone. O. S. Sovetova, the Director of the Institute of History and International Relations, stressed that historians celebrate their triple anniversary this year: the 300th anniversary of Kuzbass, the 300th anniversary of Russian archaeology, and 300 years since Tomskaya Pisanitsa was discovered by the head of the first scientific expedition to Siberia, Daniel Gottlieb Messerschmidt.
