The graduates of the program will be skilled to сonduct biochemical, clinical, laboratory, immunological, medical, and genetic tests to diagnose diseases.

    The professional skills and functions of the biochemist include:
  • making the diagnosis;
  • monitoring the course of the disease;
  • participating in the development of new diagnostic methods;
  • performing biochemical modelling of physiological and pathological processes at various levels of living systems organisation;
  • studying the mechanisms of emergence and development of pathological conditions and the best methods for treating those conditions;
  • developing scientifically substantiated optimal conditions for the use of medicines and their combinations;
  • improving biochemical analysis and diagnostic methods;
  • participating in the development and improvement of systematic biochemical control over the course of the pathological process and its treatment;
  • investigating physical evidence with biochemical methods by determining biochemical constants in the study objects.

The curriculum of the program includes courses in the field of natural sciences, medicine and biotechnology as well as workshops in clinical and university laboratories. Some of the major courses are: General and Clinical Immunology, Molecular Biology, General and Medical Biochemistry, General and Medical Genetics, General Pathology, Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, Medical Technology, and special subjects.
