The best academics and students have been honored for the year-end 2020 results

The traditional New Year rector’s reception took place in Kemerovo State University on December 23. It marked the year-end 2020 results. Academics, staff members and students were honored at the reception. Alexander Y. Prosekov, Corresponding Member of RAS, Rector of KemSU, gave a report to the audience. One of the memorable events of 2020 was that the flagship university of Kuzbass entered the QS EECA -2021 rankings of the top universities in emerging economies of Europe and Central Asia. Russian universities took 121 positions in the list out of 400. To enter the rankings, universities had to go through a selection process. The following criteria were taken into consideration: academic prestige index, student-to-staff ratio, proportion of staff with PhD, citation and publication activities in Scopus, openness index, research cooperation, and international students ratio. E. M. Kazin, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, was honored at the New Year rector’s reception. He was awarded the title of Professor Emeritus. The scientist was the first who received the golden decoration, which was established in 2020, as well as a bonus of 50.000 rubles. N. A. Belousova, Candidate of Cultural Studies, Director of the Archaeology, Ethnography and Ecology of Siberia Museum, was granted the status of KemSU Veteran. There were also departmental awards. I. S. Morozova, Director of the Institute of Education, was granted the status of Honored Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

B. U. Boger, Deputy Director of the Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST);

L. A. Varich, Associate Professor of the Department of Physiology and Genetics;

N. I. Davydenko, Professor of the Department of Product Technology and Catering Management.

The winners of intramural research competitions were also honored at the New Year rector’s reception.

Up
