In 2021, the Institute of Fundamental Sciences of Kemerovo State University will enroll the first students to the new Specialist’s Degree program "Computer security" (specialisation "Information security of computer systems"). The duration of the program will be five years and six months. Students will be charged a tuition fee. Students will be trained to develop, maintain and operate computer-based information security systems.

The relevance of launching this program at KemSU - the flagship university of Kuzbass - is due to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of December 5, 2016 on approval of the Doctrine of Information Security of the Russian Federation. The Doctrine sets tasks related to ensuring national interests in the information sphere, assessing the main information threats, setting strategic objectives, organizational bases and main directions of ensuring information security. In addition, the national program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation" lists information security among the six vectors of activity. Achieving the set goals is impossible without a sufficient number of trained specialists.
